Privacy Policy

Mooda is built around a simple promise: your mood journal belongs to you. This policy explains what data the Mooda iOS app processes, where it is stored, and what rights you have.
1. Who is responsible
The controller for data processing in connection with Mooda is the operator named in the Impressum. You can reach us via the support link on Mooda's App Store page.
2. Your journal stays yours
Your check-ins — mood scores, activities, notes and photos — are stored locally on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, Apple's CloudKit synchronises this data across your devices inside your private iCloud database. We have no technical access to your journal content: we cannot read your scores, notes or photos, and they are never transmitted to our servers.
Mooda does not require an account. Deleting the app (and, if iCloud sync was enabled, the app's iCloud data in your device settings) removes your journal.
3. Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple through your Apple account. To validate purchases and manage subscription status we use RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives pseudonymous purchase information (such as a random app user ID and receipt data), but never your journal content. Legal basis: performance of contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
4. Usage analytics
To understand how the app is used and to improve it, we use PostHog, hosted in the European Union. We process pseudonymous usage events — for example which onboarding answers were selected, whether a reminder was enabled, and which screens are used — together with a random identifier and, if you enter one, the first name you provide during onboarding. Your journal content (scores, notes, photos) is never part of analytics events. Legal basis: legitimate interest in improving the app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
5. Notifications
Daily reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. They do not involve our servers and can be disabled at any time in the app or in iOS Settings.
6. Exports
The PDF export of your journal is generated on your device. Where you share it is entirely up to you.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase and restrict the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, the right to object, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Since your journal is stored on your device and in your private iCloud, you can exercise most of these rights directly in the app (for example via "Delete all journal data"). For anything else, contact us via the support link on Mooda's App Store page.
8. Children
Mooda is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available at this address.
